HISTORY
Harry Samrick founded Mill Steel COMPANY in 1959 with little more than a phone, a desk and the idea that superior service and good business ethics could lead to success.
The culture Harry established has made Mill Steel one of the premier flat-rolled and coated steel suppliers in North America. Now Harry’s granddaughter, Pam Heglund (CEO & Chairman), alongside fellow partners – Carl Quenneville (SVP & CCO), Joe Poot (SVP Purchasing), Rob Vella (VP Operations), and Marc Rabitoy (CFO) – continue to lead Mill Steel with steadfast dedication to superior quality, delivery, and performance.
Mill Steel operates five processing locations across the Midwest and Southern US, serving the automotive, construction, HVAC, appliance, and agriculture markets. With a revenue of $775 million, Mill Steel earned the number 16 spot on the Metal Center News annual “Top 50 Service Centers” publication. The company is also among the top 15 top privately held enterprises in Michigan and is proud to be nationally certified as an Exceptional Women’s Business Enterprise (EWBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council.
