Latest Acquisition Enables Mill Steel to Increase Steel Distribution Throughout the Midwest and Mid-South United States

As Many as 20 Jobs to be Created at Anderson, Indiana Location

Mill Steel Co., one of the nation's largest distributors of flat-rolled carbon steel, has expanded its product breadth and geographic presence with the acquisition of certain assets of S&S Steel Services, Inc. (S&S), an Indianapolis/Anderson based supplier of carbon flat-rolled steel services serving a broad array of manufacturing customers in the Midwest, Mid-South and Mid-Atlantic United States. Terms of the deal, which closed on January 11, 2016, were not disclosed.

Mill Steel will continue steel slitting and cut-to-length processing operations and certain members of the company's leadership and commercial teams will remain in place. Mill Steel expects to create as many as 20 sales and production jobs at its approximate 215,000-square-foot Anderson, Indiana processing facility. Furthermore, in the coming months, Mill Steel plans to increase the existing production and distribution capability with the installation of additional processing equipment.

The strategic acquisition will support Mill Steel's growing automotive, construction, home appliance, agriculture, and HVAC business in the southeastern United States and Mexico.

Mill Steel Chairman and CEO, David S. Samrick said the acquisition is a mutually beneficial transaction for Mill Steel and S&S’ employees, suppliers, and customers.

Steel Structural Products’ Steel Framing and Accessory Manufacturing to Relocate to Jeffersonville, IN As Many as 40 Jobs to be Brought to Jeffersonville, Indiana

Mill Steel Co., one of the nation's largest distributors of flat-rolled carbon steel, has decided to consolidate its Steel Structural Products Louisville steel framing manufacturing operations and related corporate office to its Ports of Indiana, Jeffersonville service center footprint. Once complete it is expected that all 40 jobs will relocate to the Ports of Indiana, Jeffersonville area. Steel Structural Products expects to complete the move by the end of March 2016.

This move will greatly enhance the efficiencies associated with Steel Structural Products manufacturing of steel framing and accessories as well as enable it to receive substantial freight cost savings and enhanced truck availability given the established Mill Steel service center operations reside on the Ports of Indiana, Jeffersonville. Mill Steel’s service center growth and success on the Ports of Indiana, Jeffersonville footprint has exceeded all expectations to date and eagerly awaits the addition of the new manufacturing operations. Steel Structural Products’ move to Jeffersonville enables it to leverage Mill Steel’s:

- Processing services

- Inbound rail and barge material flow

- Freight carrier network

This will in turn enhance its service and delivery capabilities to its distribution customers.
